Pretty 4-star hotel/apartment that’s just steps away from everything at €70/night with breakfast included & bottomless mulled wind to keep you warm—now that‘s a real steal!
If you’re on a budget but would still like to stay in a charming hotel at a great location, the Opera Garden Hotel & Apartments Budapest is a great option.
CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
The hotel is not by the Danube bank which means you won’t get views of Buda or Pest. But it’s also for this reason that the hotel’s rate is much lower than those with the views of the river. If views are not important to you, rest assured that Opera Garden is in an ideal central and accessible location:
Andrássy út—one of the main arteries of Budapest lined with great shops & restaurants: 280 m
Opera House & Opera Metro which can take you directly to must-sees such as Szechenyi and Heroes Square: 300 m
St. Stephen’s Basilica: 400 m
House of Terror: 900 m
Chain Bridge & access to Buda: 1.2 km (15 minutes of walking leisurely)
CLEAN, PRETTY ROOMS
Clean lines with simple, modern decór is the overall theme in the hotel grounds and rooms. Although modern/minimalist is not a personal favourite of mine (I prefer rich colours, ornate accents & classic furnishings) but I do recognize that the hotel has attempted to incorporate punches of pretty here and there.
I love the wallpaper in the hallway and the use of the massive wall mirror:
I particularly like their modern take on a four-poster bed and how it adds a bit of romance to the room. With the floral motif of the accent wall combined with soft lighting, it ties up to be quite a pretty room.
And I am also very happy to report that the bathroom is clean, modern, functional and shows no hint of being a budget hotel:
Take all the above and add a great breakfast buffet, spa-sauna-jacuzzi ensemble, all the mulled wine you can have to stay warm, and sincere, courteous service—you’re certainly bound to enjoy your stay in Budapest.
