Update: Noma has once again grabbed the No. 1 spot of the prestigious San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards—reclaiming the lead after dropping to No. 2 in 2013. Just a little over a year ago, through a special mix of persistence and good luck, I was able to secure a lunch reservation in time for my birthday. Five hours, 33 dishes, seven galsses of wine, and one birthday cake round up to the best dining experience of my life. Ready for yours? Let me help:
- Read “Getting a Noma Reservation” for tips on how to secure a table in the No. 1 Restaurant in the World.

I have relied on my dear Olympus Pen EPM-1 throughout my travels in Europe and Africa and it has never let me down. We even saw the northern lights together—known to be one of the hardest images to photograph. But I knew that in securing reservations at Noma for my birthday lunch, I also get an opportunity to do some serious food porn so I switched to a Nikon D90 coupled with a 50mm lens. With shooting tips from photographer friends and family, I am pretty certain I was able to capture a few beautiful images that will hopefully show you the experience that is Noma.
